Overview

AI Form Filler ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps users fill form fields using AI. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Data Collection

The Extension collects and processes the following data:

• Anthropic API Key: Stored locally in your browser's sync storage to authenticate with the Claude API. This key never leaves your browser except when making API calls to Anthropic.
• Captured Text: Text you explicitly select and capture using the extension. This is stored temporarily in your browser's local storage and is cleared when you use the "Clear All" function or close the browser.
• Form Field Metadata: Information about form fields you mark for filling (field names, labels, placeholders, types). This is stored temporarily in local storage.

Data Usage

Your data is used solely for the following purposes:

• API Authentication: Your API key is sent to Anthropic's servers to authenticate requests.
• Form Filling: Captured text and form field metadata are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate appropriate field values.

We do not:

• Collect or store any data on external servers
• Track your browsing activity
• Sell or share your data with third parties
• Use your data for advertising or profiling

Third-Party Services

The Extension communicates with Anthropic's Claude API (anthropic.com) to process form filling requests. When you use the fill function, the following data is sent to Anthropic:

• Your captured text content
• Form field metadata (labels, names, types)

Data Storage

• API Key: Stored in Chrome's sync storage (encrypted, synced across your devices if signed into Chrome)
• Captured Text & Fields: Stored in Chrome's local storage (temporary, browser-only, not synced)

All data is stored locally in your browser. No data is stored on any external servers controlled by the Extension developer.

Data Retention

• API Key: Retained until you manually clear it via the Extension settings
• Captured Text & Fields: Retained until you clear them manually or close your browser session

Permissions

The Extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab: To interact with the current page and detect form fields
• storage: To save your API key and temporary captured data
• scripting: To inject the form filling functionality into web pages
• Host permissions (all URLs): To work on any website where you need to fill forms

Security

• Your API key is stored using Chrome's built-in secure storage mechanisms
• All communication with Anthropic's API uses HTTPS encryption
• The Extension does not log or transmit data to any servers other than Anthropic's API

Your Rights

You can at any time:

• View your stored API key in the Extension settings
• Delete your API key using the "Clear" button in settings
• Clear all captured text and field data using the "Clear All" function
• Uninstall the Extension, which removes all stored data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
